SARS-CoV-2: The best tecnology to reduce infection risk in confined spaces
Following the COVID-19 pandemic and the risk of contagion in public and private confined spaces, in view of the reopening to the public of shops, bars and restaurants it is important to reaffirm the importance of the role of air conditioning equipped with effective ventilation and air filtration systems to reduce the risk of contagion.
Cartigliano, 13th May 2020
In this particular period characterised by the risk of contracting the SARS CoV-2 infection in confined spaces, we must emphasize the important role that air conditioning systems can play for the containment of the virus spread, together with the other measures provided by governments.
PRESS RELEASE 28.04.2020
Assoclima, the Association of Manufacturers of Air Conditioning Systems, is detecting some cases of misinformation about the operation of air conditioning systems during the emergency due to Covid 19.
Assoclima points out that the most important national and international Associations of experts in the air conditioning sector - including ASHRAE, REHVA and AiCARR - have set up working groups that have reached the conclusion that the ventilation and filtration provided by the air conditioning systems used for winter heating and summer cooling contribute to reducing the concentration of SARS-CoV-2 in the air and therefore the risk of transmission.
